Rain God blesses city

Kolkata, Jul 8: At last Rain God poured tears of smile on Kolkatans as the city experienced a smart shower today.

Since last few days weather had become sultry and very uncomfortable, but respite came as it rained heavily last night slashing down the temperature level.

Today, however, it rained cats and dogs towards the noon that continued for hours and almost all the parts of the city and nearby areas enjoyed the shower.

The weathermen have forecast more thundershowers in the next few hours and had warned people in the coastal areas not to venture into the sea.

According to the met office, the maximum temperature recorded today was 34.5 degree Celsius and minimum of 28.8 degree Celsius with a relative humidity of 92 per cent.
