Govt fees in 50 per cent seats in self-financing colleges

Thiruvananthapuram, July 8 (UNI) The Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC), formed to determine the fee structure in self-financing professional colleges in Kerala, today fixed government fees in 50 per cent seats and the Justice K T Thomas Committee recommended fees in 35 per cent seats.

At the first sitting of the FRC here, it also decided that the management should levy a fees five times that of K T Thomas Committee fees in the remaining 15 per cent NRI seats.

Management of the self-financing professional colleges should submit their annual financial statements and details about infrastructure facilities of the colleges by the end of this month to the FRC.

The FRC is headed by Justice P A Mohammed.

The first sitting of the FRC was held in the background of the online counselling scheduled to begin from July 10.

There were demands from management to fix fee structure for different colleges based on the infrastructure facilities. About 50 self-financing professional colleges had submitted their suggestions regarding the fee structure.
