Former Reasi MLA can shave off his beard now!

Jammu, July 8 (UNI) Former BJP MLA Rishi Kumar Kaushal can now shave off his beard that had been left uncut for the past 26 years.

Way back in 1979, Kaushal had pledged that he would not touch a razor to his beard till the time his assembly constituency, Reasi became a district.

Reasi is among the eight new districts announced by the state government.

Way back in 1979, Mr Koushal had kicked off an agitation demanding district status for Reasi vowing that he will not shave his beard till the demand was fulfilled.

"I may cut my beard as announced years ago, but it would depend on the people of Reasi who are yet to decide a particular day for the celebrations," Mr Kaushal said while expressing his happiness.
