Electronic goods destroyed in fire
Chennai, July 8 (UNI) A huge quantity of electronic goods were destroyed in a fire outbreak in an electronic shop at Riche street in the city today.
However, no casualties have been reported.
Talking to UNI Deputy Director Fire and Rescue Services V Madura Pandiyan said the cause of fire was not known.
He said ten fire tenders and five water tankers rushed to the spot, broke open the shop is terrace doused the fire in two hours.
Unofficial sources claimed electronic goods such as mobile phone sets, radio and television accessories etc worth more than five lakh might have been destroyed.
