DMC cautions people of fake currency

Kohima, Jul 08 (UNI) The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has cautioned the people of Dimapur as well the other parts of the state regarding circulation of fake currency.

Addressing newsmen here, DMC member Hejeto said some fake currency were detected. Even some Bank branches at Dimapur have given such bundles of notes and requested the public to check their notes before drawing money from the banks.

He said Dimapur being the commercial hub of the state, many people from different parts ofthe state, while transancting money, also fell victim of fake notes.

Meanwhile, police had become alert and has started investigations to detect the fake notes and burst the racket going on in the state, said the officials.
