Dissidence-hit RJD in Jharkhand looks to Laloo's charisma
Ranchi, July 8 (UNI) With five of the seven RJD MLAs in Jharkhand openly indulging in dissident acitivites, state president Gautam Sagar Rana today said the matter would be placed before Railway minister and party's national president Laloo Prasad Yadav.
Mr Rana said party legislator Ramchandra Chadravansi was assigned to talk to Mr Yadav in this regard.
Worried by the ongoing internal squabbles, he, however, urged all party MLAs to take initiative to sort out differences amicably.
Expressing concern over the media reports about the party's infighting, he hoped that the matter needed serious attention from the party's high command.
The Railway minister already returned to the national capital completing his foreign tour.
On July five, the day of tenth foundation celebration of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) brought despair to the party's state unit with simmering rift coming to fore when rebel groups held a separate function on the occasin in an open challenge to the leadership.
The five MLAs comprised Mr Uday Shankar Singh, Mr Prakash Ram, Mr Ramchandra Chandrabanshi, Mr Videsh Singh and Ramchandra Singh.
Refusing to termed as rebels, Mr Uday Shankar Singh of the five legislators said they would work to strengthen the party and would not spare anybody who would be found trying to do so.
The difference came to light when the five favoured joining the BJP-led NDA government in the state following Mr Babulal Marandi's resigning from the BJP's preliminary membership last in May.
