CPI condemns V P Singh's arrest
Hyderabad, July 8 (UNI) The Communist Party of India National Council today condemned the arrest of former Prime Minister and Jan Morcha leader Vishwanath Pratap Singh and Jan Dal President Raj Babbar in Ghaziabad district and demanded their immediate release.
Talking to newspersons here on the deliberations of the three-day Council meeting on the penultimate day, National Council Secretary Shameem Faizee said the Council demanded their immediate release.
''The anti-people measures of the Samajwadi Party Government is increasing and its graph is declining'', Mr Faizee alleged, referring to suppression of protests by farmers near the project site against the acquisition of land in favour of Reliance.
On the CPI's strategy for the Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh, he said the party would keep away the BJP and its allies from power and enhance representation of the CPI and other Left parties in the State.
