BJP advises Ramadoss against messing up AIIMS autonomy once again

New Delhi, July 8 (UNI) Holding responsible for messing up the autonomy of AIIMS, the country's most premier medical institution, the BJP today advised Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss to accept the verdict of the Delhi High Court and stop meddling in the running of the institution.

BJP Spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said he was surprised that the Health Minister was talking of approaching the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court ''slapped'' him by staying his decision to dismiss AIIMS Director Venugopal.

He said he was surprised that Dr Ramadoss was seeing 'politics' in AIIMS just because Mr Arun Jaitley had taken up the case of Dr Venugopal. If he is seeing this as 'politics', then what he had to say when ruling party advocates like Kapil Sibal, P Chidambaram, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and R K Anand were fighting several court battles when they were not in power. Dr Ramadoss should stop such 'ridiculous assumptions' and allow the rules of autonomy take deep roots to make AIIMS grow in the right direction.
