Bardhan denies political significance in meeting Naidu

Hyderabad, July 8 (UNI) Communist Party of India(CPI) National General Secretary A B Bardhan today denied any political significance to his meeting with Telugu Desam Party(TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu over dinner.

Talking to newspersons here Mr Bardhan said ''Mr Naidu) is a very good friend of mine and no politics was discussed over the dinner.

He said while participating in the CPI National Council meet here that the CPI(M)'s reported view was that its electoral understanding with the TDP was only at the local level and there was no change in its stand elsewhere.

CPI National leader D Raja said ''let us see. Now only the Panchayat polls are over. There is still a lot of time for the assembly polls.'' ''It will lead to lot of confusion when a party has understanding with another party at the local level and with another party at the state and national levels'', said the CPI National Secretary Shameem Faizee.
