Bajrang Dal activists beat head constable at police station

Sehore, MP, July 8 (UNI) Bajrang Dal activists today created a ruckus at Rehati police station and beat up a head constable in this district, police sources said.

The activists left the police station after being calmed down by Station House Officer (SHO) Mohan Jat.

The police station falls under Budhni Vidhan Sabha seat from where Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shviraj Singh Chouhan was elected to the assembly.

A local Bajrang Dal leader called up Rehati police station to enquire about a criminal case and had an argument with head constable Meharban Singh.

Later, more than 100 Bajrang Dal workers stormed into the police station and thrashed the head constable and tore his dress in the presence of Mr Jat.

Sources said about 20 police officials, present at the police station, were self-defensive during the attack. No complaint had been lodged in the police station in this regard.

Later, Superintendent of Police Anshuman Yadav line attached the head constable for improper conduct.

Mr Yadav said the head constable had been called and a case would be registered if he lodges a complaint against the concerned.

He admitted that Bajrang Dal workers had improperly behaved with the head constable but said the head constable was also found guilty of improper conduct.
