Western Naval Command wins Navy Squash Championship

Kochi, Jul 7 (UNI) The Western Naval Command team emerged winners in the team category, closely followed by the Eastern and Southern Command teams in the second and third positions, at an inter-command squash championship for the Navy Cup today.

The championship was conducted on a league-cum-knockout basis both in the teams as well as the open category. Three teams representing the Western, Southern and Eastern Naval Command participated in the Championship.

In the Open Category, Lt Ritesh Suri of Western Command won the championship beating Lt Rahul Mehta also of Western Naval Command in the finals today.

Commodore MS Pavithran gave away the prizes.

The championship was held at the Kochi Naval Base Racquet Sports Complex from July four under the aegis of the Indian Naval Sports Control Board, New Delhi, and Headquarters Southern Naval Command, Kochi.
