Rahul lifts Northern India Junior Golf Championship
New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) Rahul Bakshi romped home to a 10-stroke win in the Category 'A' of the Sunfeast Northern India Junior/Sub-Junior Golf Championship here today.
Rahul shot a final round of one-under 71 and finished the event with a winning tally of 283, while Amanjyot Singh finished second at 293 after shooting a final round of 80.
Category 'B' saw Abhijeet Chadha clinch the title with a round of 83. His four-day tally stood at 303. Chikka Rangappa shot 73 to finish second with a tally of 309 while Rommel Mazumdar bounced back with a solid 74 to pip Raghav Bhandari by three strokes and ended the tournament with a tally of 312 to finish third.
In Category 'C', Ashbeer Saini carded four-over 76 to post an emphatic five-stroke win with a tournament aggregate of 311.
Hemender Chaudhary finished second with a tally of 316, while Ankur Chadha grabbed third place with a tally of 319.
In the junior-most Category 'D', local boy Vidit Singh recorded a seven-stroke win over Master Honey with a tally of 243. Vidit carded an 81 today while Master honey finished with a round of 86.
Gen. J J Singh, Chief of Army Staff and President of the Indian Golf Union, handed over the prizes.
