People block traffic on highway against power cuts

Jalandhar, July 7 (UNI) People annoyed with prolonged power cuts today held demonstration and blocked the busy GT Road at Kartarpur near here for about two hours.

The agitated mob also raised slogans against the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) and the state government authorities on the National Highway, while police had to divert the traffic through alternative routes.

There have been prolonged power cuts throughout the state, in view of the prevailing power crisis.

In the city, three to four hour power cuts are in force during peak hours.
