One more child succumbs

Chennai, Jul 7 (UNI) The toll in the July five mishap involving children has risen to seven with one more child succumbing at a private hospital here this morning.

Ganesh Kumar (8) was admitted to the hospital here with serious head injuries. The end came this morning.

For his family, it is the second tragedy in as many days as his brother Sibi Krishnan was also killed in the mishap which claimed six lives when the van in which they were travelling to school collided with a lorry on the Nellikuppam-Cuddalore Road.

Six other children were also injured.

IG K Radhakrishnan who visited the accident spot last night said police personnel have been instructed to ensure no vehicles were parked in the place to prevent mishaps.
