Nagaland to get first Nursing College

Kohima, Jul 7 (UNI) Nagaland government's health and family welfare department is planning to upgrade all civil hospitals and public health centres in the state.

The department is also planning to shortly establish the first Nursing College at Kohima.

In a statement here today Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. T.M.Lotha said all Civil Hospitals and Primary Health Centres (PHC) would be upgraded with modern equipments to provide better diagnosis and treatment of patients.

More PHC would be established in the remote areas to look into the betterment of health of the rural people, he said.

He said the proposal to set up a full fledged Nursing College in the State capital has been agreed in principle by the Government.

The first of its kind college in the state is likely to start by the next session.

On the Naga Hospital in Kohima, the Minister said that it is too congested to plan anything but the department is trying to provide better facilities for the patients by introduction of capsule endoscopies.
