Monsoon weakens in state

Bhopal, Jul 7: After a delayed onset, monsoon weakened in Madhya Pradesh with the phase of downpours coming to a halt, although scanty rainfall continued.

The meteorological department said rainfall occurred at some places in Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior divisions overnight, while other places experienced a dry weather.

The department predicted rainfall and showers with lightning at some places.

Heavy rainfall had lashed western part of the state after monsoon arrived in Madhya Pradesh recently.
