Mittal not ready for charity payments yet

New Delhi, July 7 (UNI) Steel baron and one of the world's richest men, India-born Laxmi Niwas Mittal is not ready for any charity payments. yet, unlike Bill Gates and Warren Buffet who have given sizeable amount of their wealth to the needy.

Asked whether, he would do a Bill Gates or Buffet, giving money for charity, Mr Mittal quipped that he still has a long way to go, and he has ''to go old'' for that kind of gesture.

According to the Fortune's list of richest people in the world, London-based Mittal is ranked fifth with a net worth of 23.5 billion dollars.

"I am still very young, Warren Buffett is very elder much to me," he said when asked if he had any plans to follow the footsteps of the illustrious investor, who recently announced a donation of 37 billion dollars to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In his his first media conference in India after the long fought takeover of rival Arcelor, the Sultan of steel said he would have to work a few more years before thinking of getting into philanthropy.

"I will work for a couple of years more and then I would think about it," Mr Mittal said.
