Light showers in HP
Shimla, Jul 7 (UNI) Monsoon in Himachal Pradesh remained weak for the third consecutive day today as light showers fell at isolated places of the state during the last 24 hours, while humidity level remained high, the Metereological department said.
Kangra, Mandi and Shimla districts reported widespread rains, while isolated rains hit Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Una districts since last night. The metereological department sources said the entire state had received less rain after the arrival of monsoon than pre monsoon showers so far.
It said Nagrota Suriyan and Palampur in Kangra district recorded 16.4 and 13.4 mm rains respectively followed by 11.5 mm at Jogindernagar in Mandi district, 10 mm at Sunni in Shimla district and 9.6 mm of rain at Dharamshala in Kangra district.
Nadaun in Hamirpur and Guler in Kangra recorded and 8.3 mm of rains respectively, while Solang Nullah in Kullu district recorded 6.6 mm of rains, it said.
The metereological department said Shimla also received 1.2 mm of rains, while the famous tourist resort of Mashobra, near here, recorded 4.4 mm of rain during the last 24 hrs.
Dharamshala has so far recorded about 522.2 mm of rains followed by 36.8 mm of rains from June one till date, it said.
Rain clouds continue to hover over Shimla and its adjoining areas without bringing showers and dense fog enveloped high altitude areas of the town for major part of the day.
Humidity level remained high in the entire state during the last 24 hrs and the metereological department said it would remain high till the monsoon intensifies in the state.
Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts recorded no rainfall during the last 24 hours, while recording night temperatures of 14.1 at Kalpa and 3.5 degrees at Patsio in Lahaul district.
The state capital recorded a minimum of 17.7 degrees, while Sundernagar recorded 24.1 and Bhuntar 23.3 degree Celsius.
The metereological department has predicted light to moderate showers at isolated places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
