KSIDC records highest-ever profit in 2005-06
Thiruvananthapuram, July 7 (UNI) The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation(KSIDC) has made the highest-ever profit of Rs 22.18 crore during the 2005-06 fiscal.
One of the top performers among the public sector corporations in the state, KSIDC's sanctioning of loans was also a record during the year with its assistance to industries increasing to Rs 131 crore during the year from Rs 91 crore in the previous year, a KSIDC release said today.
The assistance is expected to catalyse an investment of Rs 545.93 crore and provide employment to 7,166 people.
During the year, 14 projects were commissioned providing employment to more than 1,000 people. As many as 36 projects with an estimated investment of Rs 674.41 crore are under various stages of implementation.
The Corporation expects to achieve sanction of assistance of Rs 145 crore during the next financial year.
The Corporation is also taking the lead role in facilitating the implementation of several mega projects in the State, including the LNG terminal, Petrochemical complex and expansion of Technopark. It is also workiing on establishing a few special economic zones in the State including health care technology park, free trade and warehousing zone and multi-product special economic zone, the release said.
