Job with forged appointment letter: PWD engineer arrested

Basti, July 7 (UNI) Police today arrested an Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) assistant engineer, who allegedly landed up the job on basis of a forged appointment letter in 1990.

Additional police superintendent Rahul Raghvendra said here Navin Kumar of Siwan district in Bihar had forged an appointment letter of another person, Pawan Kumar.

Navin had put his own name on the appointment letter and started working in the PWD here as a junior engineer.

However, the forgery was detected in a departmental inquiry and a case lodged by executive engineer Banwari Lal at the Kotwali police station.

Meanwhile, Navin -- staying at a rented accomodation at Barihawan locality -- had been sent to jail.
