Japan seeks China coop on N Korea

Beijing, July 7: Japan's chief envoy for talks on North Korea's nuclear arms programmes said he had asked his Chinese counterpart to cooperate in responding to North Korea's missile tests at the UN Security Council.

''China has a very important role, so it is important that China take an appropriate response concerning this issue and I sought China's cooperation'' at the Security Council, Kenichiro Sasae, Japan's chief envoy for talks on North Korea's nuclear arms programmes, told reporters.
