Hyderabad, July 7 (UNI) The sister act continues. Grinham sisters from Australia --former world champion and top seed Rachael and third seed Natalie steamrolled their opponents to set up a semifinal clash in the Qatar Airways Challenge WISPA World Tour Squash championship at Falaknuma Palace on the outskirts of the city tonight.
In the quarterfinals that ended late tonight Rachael, the elder of the two, defeated sixth seeded Tania Bailey of England 9-6, 9-7, 9-3.
Her younger sister Natalie, triple gold medallist at the Melbourne Commonwealth games, survived a first game scare, before ambushing Omneya Abdel Kawy of Egypt 10-8, 9-0, 9-1 to ensure that one of the semifinals would be a family affair.
In the other semifinals, reigning World Champion and second seeded Nicol David of Malaysia would meet fifth seed Jenny Duncalf of England. While Nicol overcame a first game deficit to thrash Alison Waters of England 4-9, 9-1, 9-2, 9-6 in a little under an hour, Duncalf defeated her compatriot Vicky Botwright 9-6, 9-10, 9-5, 9-7 in an error prone encounter.
