Inquiry into footballer's death
Kolkata, July 7 (UNI) The SSKM hospital is likely to set up an inquiry into the death of footballer Bhaskar Adhikary.
The United Sports Club keeper was admitted to the hospital on June 28 with abdominal pain and was checked by surgeon Shyamal Haldar.
On June 30, Haldar recommended an immedite CT scan for the keeper. The test would have cost Rs 5000 which was beyond the capacity of Bhaskar's relatives.
The scan was finally done on July 4 at a private diagnostic centre and revealed severe complications in the intestine and soon after he died.
The SSKM sources said if the investigation centre had given their report on time the player could have been saved. Meanwhile, the relatives have complained about negligence of the doctors.
