Heavy rains predicted in Konkan, Goa

Pune, July 7 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been active in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Saurashtra and Kutch.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were above normal in Haryana and west Rajasthan and they were normal in Punjab and remaining parts of east Rajasthan.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at many places in Konkan and Goa.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajashtan, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Extremely heavy rains have occured at most places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rains have occured at most places in Saurashtra and Kutch and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya and madhya Maharashtra and at few places in Arunachal Pradesh.

Very light rains have occured at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Jammu and Kashmir, west Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Marathwada, Telangana and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
