Chandigarh, July 7 (UNI) Justice Surinder Singh Nijjar of Punjab and Haryana High Court today adjourned the hearing of the plea seeking directions to cancel the bail granted to former Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur in the case related to the murder of her daughter to August eleven.

The application for cancellation of the former SGPC chief's bail has been filed by Kamaljit Singh of Begowal village in Kapurthala district.

Bibi Jagir Kaur was granted bail by Justice Nijjar in April 2000 in connection with the alleged murder of her daughter Harpreet Kaur.

According to petitioner Kamaljit Singh, he had married Harpreet days before she was done to death under a conspiracy hatched by her own mother Bibi Jagir Kaur.

It has been alleged in the application that she was treating the anticipatory bail as the regular bail and was also attempting to tamper with the record of the case besides threatening or influencing witnesses.

The petitioner has also sought directions to expedite the trial now in progress at the special court, Patiala where the CBI has filed the charge sheet against Bibi Jagir Kaur and some others after investigation carried out on the orders of the high court.
