HC cancels sanctions by Minister to 1495 schools
Nagpur, July 7 (UNI) Nagpur bench of the Bombay High court today cancelled all new allotments of 1495 schools sanctioned by Maharashtra Schools Education Minister Vasant Purke at one go on May 16 this year.
The bench comprising justices Dilip Sinha and R C Chavan had issued notices to the State Government and the Education Minister on a writ petitions filed by Kalyan Shikshak Pracharak Mandal challenging the sanction to the schools by Mr Purke in violation of the High Court's directives.
The petitioner also alleged that one of the schools sanctioned was controlled by the Minister himself and established in the name of his father.
The petitioner also submitted that the respondent authorites including the Education Minister grossly abused their position while sanctioning the schools.
