Gadkari demands Education Minister's resignation

Mumbai, July 7 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari today said Nagpur High Court's decision to cancel sanctioning of 1,459 schools is a 'slap' on the Congress-NCP State government and sought resignation of the State Education Minister for it.

He said Education Minister Vasant Purke should resign from the Ministry, accepting his moral responsibility for the situation.

''We will pursue this issue in the monsoon session,'' he added.

In a release issued here today, Mr Gadkari said the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court today took the decision to cancel the approval to 1,459 schools which were approved by Mr Purke.

He further said the decision has shown that where the marketisation of the education could reach and what could be its implications.

He alleged that already various professional colleges and educational institutions were given to many Congress and NCP leaders, and they were taking huge donations from the students.
