Five arrested for selling fake degrees

Darbhanga, July 7 (UNI) Five people were arrested for selling fake degrees under University police station in the district today.

Police superintendent O.N.Bhasker said acting on a tip off, a team of police personnel raided a hideout and arrested five people, including three employees of Lalit Narayan Mithila University, who were engaged in trading of the fake degrees.

The degrees were related to B,Sc, B,Ed and MBBS examinations.

Mr Bhasker said arrested employee were Tarni Singh, Md Kaishar, and Badhyanath Prasad. Shankar Singh, son of an employee of the University and Nunu, a proprietor of Photo state centre were also arrested in this connection.

During the interrogation, the accused accepted that they had earned lakhs of rupees from the trading of fake degrees. More than five hundred such degrees were also recovered from their possession, he added.
