Court orders Kalighat temple authorities to file report
Kolkata, Jul 07 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today asked Kalighat Temple authorities to keep accounts of the donations for the temple and file a report stating whether they used a Central grant of Rs five crores for the upkeep of the temple.
A two-judge bench presided by Chief Justice V.S.Sirpurkar also directed the temple authorities to appoint people for cleaning the temple round the clock.
The court passed the order on a petition filed by Praladh Goenka.
Mr Goenka alleged misappropriation of funds by the temple authorities, which posed problems to maintain the centuries-old temple.
