Bomb hoax at Vijayawada Railway Station

Vijayawada, July 7 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the Vijayawada Railway Station today when an unidentified caller informed that a bomb was planted in Trivandrum-New Delhi Kerala Express.

Railway sources told UNI here that they received a call at the Railway Main Control room after the arrival of the train, claiming that a bomb was placed in the train.

A bomb disposal squad along with Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police conducted a search in all the compartments with sniffer dogs for an hour.

No bomb was found and the call turned out to be a hoax.

The train left at 1215 hours on its onward journey, the sources added.
