BJP demands sacking of Ramadoss

New Delhi, Jul 7: Expressing happiness over the High Court order staying the recommendation of the AIIMS governing body seeking the dismissal of AIIMS Director P Venugopal, the BJP today demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sack Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss for 'messing' the institute's administration.

Party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said the judicial verdict comes as a respite for the people of the country especially the intellectuals who have played a great role in building the intellectual power house.

Dr Venugopal is a very senior doctor who had contributed to the development of medical science and the verdict had taken cognizance of the efforts to humiliate a venerated personality, he added.

It was unfortunate that the ministers were bahaving like tribal chieftains bypasing all limits of decency, decorum and democratic norms, Mr Prasad asserted.

A joint letter by former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Jawant Singh, senior leaders Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and Vijay Kumar Malhotra was sent to President A P J Abdul Kalam expressing their dismay over the humuliation of a through professional like Dr Venugopal.
