BJP demand rollback of prices in Meghalaya
Shillong, July 07 (UNI) The BJP in Meghalaya has demanded immediate rollback in prices of essential comodities.
The state executive committee of the BJP which met here this afternoon has severely come down on the Congress led UPA government for its all round failures in curbing terrorist activities.
Meghalaya state BJP president Alexnader Hek said the party also crticised the ruling Congress led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government for the mushroom appointment of Chairman and Co-chairman in various state run Boards and Corporation thereby drastically affecting the state exchequer.
The meeting, attended by V Satish, ridiculed the Congress for having three Chief Ministers in a small state like Meghalaya.
Lamenting on the Land Transfer Act passed by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Mr Hek said the aspirations of the genuine non-tribals in selling and purchasing of lands among themselves have been dampened.
Expressing concern over the deletion of many names of genuine voters from the electoral lists having EPIC and whose names had earlier figured in the electoral lists before intensive revision, the BJP demanded to conduct immediate summary revision in all the constituencies of the state.
