Baalu approves ten road improvement works in Orissa
New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) The Centre has approved ten road improvement works under the Central Road Fund (CRF) in Orissa at a total cost of Rs 58.29 crore.
The projects were sanctioned by Union Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Baalu following a representation from the Orissa government.
The projcets, approved by Mr Baalu, include construction of Cuttack-Paradeep road involving an expenditure of Rs 26.46 crore, improvement of riding quality of intermediate-lane carriageway of Nayagarh-Odagaon-Laukhal road (Rs. 4.53 crore) and reconstruction of a bridge over Singida Nallah of Angul-Chhendipada-Sarapal-Budhapal road (Rs. 1.68 crore).
Mr Baalu also approved a plan for widening of existing single lane carriageway to intermediate lane with improvement of riding quality of Gudiakateni-Hindol road at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crore.
An amount of Rs 3.32 crore was approved for construction of bridges over the Bauli river and construction of concrete pavement of a certain stretch of Angul-Tikarapada road.
The other projects which received the minister's sanction were widening and strengthening of existing single lane carriageway to intermediate-lane carriageway of Sonepur-Binika-Rampur-Dungurapalli road (Rs 2.30 crore), reconstruction of a bridge over Panchama Nallah on Narsighpur-Balliput road (Rs.94.21 lakh), improvement of riding quality of existing intermediate-lane carriageway of Moter-Jayapathan road (Rs. 4.65 crore), widening and strengthening of existing single lane carriageway to intermediate-lane carriageway of Sambalpur-Sonepur road (Rs 5.40 crore) and widening of single lane carriageway of a certian stretch of Angul-Chendipada-Sarpal-Budhapal road (Rs 5 crore).
