YSR statement on Telangana has hurt sentiments: BJP
Hyderabad, Jul 6 (UNI) Senior BJP Leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao today found fault with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's purported statement that TDP's good performance in the recent local body polls in Telangana districts was a verdict for United Andhra Pradesh but not for a separate Telangana State.
Speaking to newsmen here, Mr Rao said such statements would hurt the sentiments of the Telangana people. He wanted Telangana intellectuals and activists to react to the statement.
The Telangana Rasthra Samiti (TRS) should also clarify the Congress stand on Telangana, he said Referring to the five per cent reservation for Muslims in the state, Mr Rao claimed the state government approached the Supreme Court only to support is stand on the issue and not to fight the case effectively.
