Two die of rain-related diseases; 199 admitted

Mumbai, July 6 (UNI) As many as two people have died and 199 patients were admitted to various hospitals, as rain-related diseases like leptospirosis and malaria among others, resurfaced across the city.

An official release here today confirmed the deaths, stating that one died of leptospirosis at the government-run J J Hospital, while another person succumbed to malaria in a civic hospital in the city.

The release also said that 199 patients were admitted to the government-run and municipal hospitals in the city.

Of the total of 778 patients who went for treatment, 199 were admitted to different hospitals, the release said.

The release further mentioned that of these, 51 were admitted for gastro, 10 for heptitis, four for dengue, two for typhoid, 29 for malaria, 102 for fever, one for injury and other 134 patients for cough and cold, the release added.
