Twin blockade affect traffic on highway in Manipur

Imphal, Jul 6 (UNI) The traffic on NH 39 was affected today following agitations on different issues.

The residents of Pallel and Thoubal district have been protesting the failure of the power department to provide electricity following break down of transformer. While the Keithelmanbi twineh river reselection joint committee launched a three-day blockade from last midnight to demand developmental activities in the area.

The blockade may be extended if the government failed to announce new programmes and security related activities in the area, the committee said.

Due to the blockade the movement of vehicles on the highway was disrupted.
