Tendulkar hits third ton, Lashings beat Taunton School XI by 26 runs
London, July 6 (UNI) Sachin Tendulkar slammed his third ton for Lashings World XI as the star-studded side ovecame Taunton School Invitation XI by 26 runs in a 30-overs-a-side match here.
Batting first in the away match at Taunton school, Lashings rode twin tons by Tendulkar (101) and their new recruit Aravinda De Silva (100 not out) to reach 223 for three. Tendulkar retired after scoring 101 runs to allow other team mates to bat. Will Penny claimed one wicket conceding 24 runs.
Chasing a victory target of 224, the local favourites finished their innings at 197 for nine with Joe Cooper hitting 52 and Simon Manley contributing 42.
England's Ashes winning women team captain Clare Connor was the pick of the Lashings bowlers, claiming five for 36 while Kiwi allrounder Chris Harris grabbed two for 26.
