T. Anand Kumar takes over as Food Secretary

New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) Mr T Nand Kumar today took over charge as Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

An Officer of Indian Administrative Service (Jharkhand)/1972, Mr Kumar has held several important positions in the State Government as well as at the Centre. His assignments include, Chairman Spices Board, Cochin (1990-95) and Secretary General, International Jute Study Group Dhaka (2002-05) Mr Kumar was Development Commissioner, Ranchi in the rank of Secretary before taking up his new assignment.

He succeeds Mr R N Das who has been appointed as State Chief Information Commissioner for Gujarat with effect from the date he assumes charge.
