Six shells recovered near Jammu airport
Jammu, July 6 (UNI) Six mortars shells were recovered in Chatha area, about two kms from Jammu airport, in a jute bag last evening, police said today.
The shells were found by labourers who informed the matter to a police patrol in the area.
A police team rushed to the spot and bomb Disposal squad was called to defuse the shells.
Police said shells were not very potent and were being used by the army for training purposes.
Meanwhile, a live shell was also recovered from near the International border with Pakistan in Kathua district today. The shell appeared to have been used by the Pakistan army during 2002 shelling.
