Remain vigilant against forces working to derail peace process: PDP
Srinagar, July 6 (UNI) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a coalition partner in the Jammu and Kashmir government, today urged people to remain vigilant against forces who are working to derail the peace process.
Party president Mehbooba Mufti urged people to thwart the attempts by vested interests aimed to derail the political and development agenda which is being persuaded by the coalition government.
Addressing public meetings in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, she appealed to all political parties to help create a conducive atmosphere for achieving long lasting and dignified peace in trouble torn state.
Ms Mufti said a relaxed security situation has emerged in the State where people felt empowered. Slowly but steadily their faith and trust started rebuilding in the democratic institutions resulting in massive voter turnout during Municipal Elections and then Assembly bye-elections, she added.
An MP from Anantnag-Pulwama constituency, she announced a grant of Rs 15 lakhs out of MPLAD fund for several public utility assets in these areas.
