Rajasthan Patrika Corr to receive Udayan Memorial journalism awar

New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) A correspondent and a photographer with the Rajasthan Patrika has been selected for "Udayan Memorial Journalism Awards 2005" for excellence in reporting and photo journalism.

Mr Gaurav Kumar Jain, Correspondent, Rajasthan Patrika, Sikar has been selected for this year's "Udayan Memorial Journalism Award for excellence in reporting and Mr. Ajit Bhutta, Staff Photographer, Rajasthan Patrika, Bikaner has been selected for the "Udayan Memorial Photo Journalism Award 2005".

The awards, instituted by the Udayan Sharma Foundation Trust to promote excellence in Hindi Journalism and Photo Journalism, will be presented to Mr Jain and Mr Bhutta by Union Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh at a function on July 11 2006 at FICCI Commission Room at Tansen Marg, a release by the foundation said.

Veteran journalist Kanhiya Lal Nandan will preside the function while Finance Minister of Punjab, Surinder Singla will be the Guest of Honour.

While Mr Jain was chosen for the awards by a jury consisting of Senior Journalists Rahul Dev, JANMAT, Editor Nav Bharat Times, MadhuSudan Anand, Dy News Director Aajtak, Ramkripal Singh, Editor Hindustan, Manoj Kumar Joshi and Jt. Editor UNI Neeraj Bajpai, Mr Bhutta was chosen by a jury comprising Former Photo Editor, Hindustan Times S N Sinha, and Senior Photographer, The Hindu V V Krishnan.

The jury also selected for felicitation Dr Sanjay Verma (Nav-Bharat Times, Delhi), Ms Archana Rajhans a freelance journalist for excellence in reporting and K K Santhosh (Mathrubhoomi, Kozhikode), Atul Yadav (PTI) for photojournalism.
