Rains elude Kolkata

Kolkata, July 6 (UNI) Rains continued to give Kolkata a slip even as sporadic cloud cover raised hopes of showers.

The city has not experienced any rains since the last 48 hours.

The temperature too rose slightly causing lot of discomfort to the people.

The Met department officials, however, forecast rain in the next few hours.

Today's maximum temperature was 34.3 degrees celsius and the minimum 27.4 degrees. The relative humidity was down to 91 per cent from 95 per cent in the last few days, they said.
