Police recovers decomposed body of a Delhi-based businessman
Ludhiana, July 6 (UNI) Police today recovered the decomposed body of a cloth merchant from a hotel room here.
According to police, the 25-year-old man was apparently attacked with a sharp-edged weapon and strangled.
Police said four people, who claimed to be cloth merchants from Delhi checked into the hotel on June 29.
They were not seen after July 4 but their room remained locked.
The hotel staff today informed police after foul smell started emanating from the room. On breaking into the room, police found the body.
ASI Darshan Singh said there was a possibility that the deceased's companions killed him for money.
A postmortem has been conducted and case registered under sections 302, 34 of IPC, he added.
