Police custody of NRI murder case accused extended
Ahmedabad, July 6 (UNI) A Jamnagar local court today extended by eight days the police custody of Manish Savasani, one of the main accused in NRI Manish Rathod murder case.
The police, meanwhile, have seized diaries and other documents from Savsani's bungalow at Rajkot. However, police have refused to divulge further details about the seizures from Savsani's Samarpan bungalow at Rajkot.
The Jamnagar court, while extending the remand period, has directed the police to produce Savsani before the court by July 14.
The court had earlier remanded Savsani to ten days police remand.
The police has reopened a three-year-old case in which Savasani allegedly assaulted a person by name Vinubhai Gajjar on January 1, 2003. The case had been closed after the police failed to make any headway for want of evidence.
Savsani is one of the main accused in the recent murder case of NRI businessman Manish Rathod, a member of Swadhyay Parivar, in Ahmedabad.
