Police clamp ban orders around the Mysore-end of BMIC project
Mysore, July 6 (UNI) The police today clamped ban orders under section 144 CrPC in and around the city-end of the controversial Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project (BMIC) on the outskirts of the city.
This followed Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) officials preventing Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), the promoters of BMIC, today making preparations for the ground breaking ceremony of the project from the Mysore end, tomorrow morning.
Speaking to UNI on telehpone, NICE Managing Director Ashok Kheny, however, said the company would go ahead with the programme tomorrow.
MUDA today wrote a letter to the CP, Praveen Sood, saying that the land which belonged to the authority 'cannot be handed over to anybody.' Following this, police clamped the ban orders which would be in force from dawn-to-dusk tomorrow.
