Petition on CET for medical exams dismissed
Chennai, July 6: The Madras High Court today dismissed a petition seeking to direct the Tamil Nadu Government to admit students based only on Common Entrance Test (CET) marks in MBBS/BDS courses in the state.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice A P Shah and Mr Justice Murugesan dismissed the petition filed by T Nikkin, a student.
The Bench held that because 200 marks from the qualifying examination were taken into consideration under the scheme drawn by the government, it could not be said the state policy was inconsistent or in anyway adverse to Medical Council of India regulations.
