No rains in rainy season

Kolkata, Jul 6 (UNI) Rains continued to give the city a slip even as sporadic cloud cover raised hopes of showers.

The city has not experienced any rains since the last 48 hours.

The temperature too rose slightly causing lot of discomfort to Kolkatans.

The MET officials, however, kept up hopes of a quick shower in the next few hours.

Today's maximum temperature was 34.3 degree Celsius and the minimum 27.4(+1) degree Celsius. The relative humidity was down to 91 per cent from 95 per cent in the last few days, the Met office said.
