Move to bring in Bill for care and protection for children
New Delhi, Jul 6 (UNI) The cabinet today approved a proposal for moving amendments in the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill, 2005 in the forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament.
The move would amend certain provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000.
The proposed amendements would improve the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) of Childern Act, 2000, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said after the Cabinet meeting.
Mr Dasmunsi also said that the cabinet gave its consent for the approval for moving the official amendments to the Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Bill, 2005.
He said this would facilitate the funcitioning ofthe National Human Rights Commssion and State Human Rights Commssions and make them more efective by addinng those provisions which improve its functioning.
