Metal prices hike on heavy industrial demand
Mmmbai, July 6 (UNI) Price of metals rose on heavy industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.
In ferrous section (per quintal) ; copper heavy and brass cuttings shot up by Rs 1,000 each while copper utensils and brass utensils rose by Rs 500 and Rs 300 respectively on reduced stock supply. But aluminium utensils declined by Rs 300 on sustained heavy selling pressure.
In non-ferrous section (per quintal), zinc slab, copper wire bars and lead ingots hiked by Rs 800, Rs 200 and Rs 100 respectively on increase of fresh demand.
Tin slab and Nickel cathode also increased by Rs 19 and Rs 65 per kg on lesser stock supply.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 36,000, copper utensils - Rs 30,500, brass utensils - Rs 21,000, brass cuttings - Rs 24,500, aluminium utensils - Rs 10,300.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 39,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,100, zinc slab - Rs 18,000, lead ingots - Rs 6,100, tin slab - Rs 475 (per kg), nickel cathode - Rs 1,180 (per kg).
