Maoist killed in exchange of fire

Mahbubnagar, AP, July 6 (UNI) A Deputy Commander of CPI Maoist Party was killed during an exchange of fire between the naxals and police near Maredumanujinne forest area in Peddakothapally mandal in this district today.

A special party police, engaged in combing operations in Bacharam Reserve forest near Maredumanujinne village came across four armed Maoists.

When police asked them to surrender they opened fire, following which the former retaliated killing 22-year-old Alkachenu Allaji alias Arun, Deputy Commander of Mahabubnagar Platoon.

One tapancha, a grenade, two kit bags, two empty .303 cartridges, two charger clips and revolutionary literature were recovered from the spot, police added.
